Durham County Council Trading Standards Service has set up the Registered Trader Scheme, in association with the County’s Community Safety Team, the Police and other voluntary, public and private sector agencies. It will help you, the consumer to make an informed choice when choosing a reputable trader.
Trading Standards receives numerous calls every year from consumers about who to choose to have work done in their home. The scheme pre-vets the trader before they are allowed to join, by carrying out a number of thorough checks to give the consumer peace of mind when hiring a tradesperson.
